#XIV

"You know when sometimes you meet someone, so beautiful. And then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they're as dull as a brick. And then there's other people, and you think, 'Not bad, they're okay.' And then you get to know them and--and their face just... sort of becomes them. Like their personality's written all over it. And they turn into something so beautiful."

Bridge Over Quiet River

While crossing the brigde over Tagus I landed my fisheye on the steering wheel and kept the shutter open until my car and I were on land again.
Experiencing with light painting!

Loves me Loves me Not

Sign from a vegetarian restaurant in the old part of Lisbon.
It reminds me of the old lullaby 'he loves me he loves me not'.

Taken with fisheye 2, using slide film and cross-process technique.

Creative Exchange ~ Fountain

1 of 38 photos result of the lomography workshop I did.
There were clouds and not much sun although it was hot and walking on the steep streets became tiring with the passing of time and the lack of water... lucky me there are a lot of 'cafés' in Lisbon.
This is a photograph of Rossio's fountain, taken with a fisheye 2 using slide film and cross process technique.
I like the outcome quite a lot.

Underwater Love

On the floating, shapeless oceans
I did all my best to smile
til your singing eyes and fingers
drew me loving into your eyes.

And you sang "Sail to me, sail to me;
Let me enfold you."

Here I am, here I am wainting to hold you.

Shore

fisheye 2

Summertime,

Child, you living easy.
Fish are jumping out
And the cotton, Lord
Cotton´s high, Lord, so high

Your daddy's rich

And ma is so good-looking, baby
She's looking good now,
Hush, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby...

Alf & Puka

From the last of summer vacations...
Alf (in the back, laying on the floor) & Puka (the beautiful 4 month little female cat).

They both belonged to my cousin (until Puka's too recent death after a surgery), one too big and scared of me that I'm not that tall and the other too small and too endering too sweet to forget.

This is a multi-exposure, done with my fisheye 2. I've been happily exploring it and I've been loving the experience. I will be posting more here, from all those films I used through sunny days.

Back from hiatus

I've been away from my blog for quite some time.
Much change this. Isn't amazing the fact that I chose a word for 2011 and was unable to live up to it!

There are days when I get home to late or to tired, also with the fisheye I have been living with that wainting feeling that borns and grows until one picks their photos up from the photolab.

But then again I really should live up to my chosen word: discipline!

See you around really soon... like tomorrow :)!

August Break #22 | There are tears in my eyes

Saudade *
Panasonic Lumix

[* Saudade is a portuguese word hard to translate, it describes a mix of loss, distance and love. One can feel saudade of a lot of things, of someone one loves deeply and is no longer around and close, of a faraway friend, of (sacred) places with special meaning, of love, of time that has gone by.
And today on my way to work I felt saudade of those old days, when we were younger, we were all together and unconsciously I believed we were forever and of that amazingly beautiful old beach with hot water and white sand]

Creative Exchange ~ On my way home

I'm enjoying some days of vacation under the sun, by the sea with my feet buried in the sand.
I had decided to photograph this passage when leaving the beach with the sunset as a source of light. This was made with wood from old railway roads, amazingly it still smells like trains and stations and oil.
This photo is for Lisa's Creative Exchange.

By the way, today's World Photography Day! And I have been experience my lomo fisheye, I'm really really happy with my purchase, I will post some photos after developing.
